More Chutney ~ Sweet-Hot Caramelized Onions

Yesterday was a busy day again.  I can see more of the kitchen table top, and we can actually sit and eat there.  Some of us anyway.  I had two crock pots going, while another batch of green tomato chutney (the one with raisins) simmered.

...and all while the laundry went on the line.  It was still a dark, dreery, cold day.  However, it was windy.

We tasted the chutney on the turkey breast that was cooking with sweet potatoes and onions in one crock pot.  Delicious!

Evening was ended with canning a batch of sweet-hot caramelized onions.  I have never made these and hope they taste as good as they look.  I'm looking forward to a philly-beef sandwich smothered with mushrooms and green peppers this winter.  That's what the other crock pot was for - cooking the onions all day.

The red tomatoes are finally done.  Into the freezer they went.  Ka-pish!  Done!  We have 1 1/2 dozen or less green tomatoes left.  I'm letting them sit until they turn red and eating them in some sort of meal.

Golly it felt good to be done with tomatoes.  A celebratory drink of the adult kind was in order.
