Chive Oil

Summer time pizzas, made fresh from the oven sounds great right?  Or Italian anything sounds good.  I decided that I needed some homemade chive oil for those types of meals.

With a few free minutes (I'm so funny) I cut some of those fresh chives we are getting from the garden.

Now, if the sun will come out like the weather forecast has predicted, this oil will be ready to use in a few weeks.

  3. Sam I Am, I used organic/non-gmo olive oil. One cup to about 1/4-1/2 cup fresh chives. I bruised them with 1 cup of oil, then poured in the second cup of oil. Can't wait to use it.

  4. Mama Pea, I am so anxious to go weed the gardens today, but it's so wet yet, even though the sun is out. I know more rain is coming, and I can the thistle growing over night.

  5. How do you keep that from turning? I've tried to make flavored oils several times. It always ends up a scary bubbling mess. LOL
    God bless.

  6. RB, I ran my chives through my salad spinner to remove any water (from rinsing them). It really helps to dry them off first.
