Days to Myself, Projects, and Sickness

I have had the wonderful pleasure of more days to myself.  In a way it's saving me gas too.  I tend to get so involved with my projects and work, that I leave little time for running errands.

We've had some very relaxing, and cool nights here, but a camping trip with Hubby and I may not be the picture. Sigh....he's being asked to work over a lot lately.  It's good for the pocket book, but bad for our dedicated time to each other. The other night, I was in town (finally) buying jeans for 2 girls, when he called and said he'd love to have a date night with me.  Shortly after, he called again.  Work called him back. Double sigh.....

I've been crocheting these bracelets for gifting.  They are pretty easy to make and I have gotten rave reviews from all the girls (I showed them a different pattern and got tongues sticking out and squinted eyes).  I do need to purchase some buttons and sew them on to finish them.

I've been attempting to crochet more rooster Christmas tree ornaments too.

The kids have brought home the creeping crud.  I knew it was bound to happen, and I had an arsenal of Lysol.  However, despite our efforts we are all (except the guys) sick.  There has been a lot of hacking, coughing, nose blowing, whining, and napping. Oh, I hope this passes quickly.  I guess a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup is in order.

  3. Ah, yes, school starts and all those new germies are introduced to all the kids' systems. Bring on that homemade chicken soup. And try to get everybody (including you!) to get extra sleep so your bodies can fight the onslaught.

That bracelet you pictured is beautiful! Especially attractive on that tanned arm. Yours?

  4. Yes, that is my very own arm. Typically, I'd be more tan from outside yard work, but I am (like you suggested) trying to rest this weekend. My kids are in a school, where they house Pre-K all the way to 12th, in one building. It's germ city there. Thanks everyone, for your comments on the bracelet. I have to say I'm enjoying making them and have started to make different colors. I hope I can just get enough buttons for them. I have two buttons to secure them.

  5. When you have time to get organized with the bracelets, would it be possible for anyone (me!) out here in Blogdom to make a purchase?

  6. Sure thing. I haven't come up with a price just yet, but will let you know when I get some done. Can you e-mail me with the width of your wrist? They do stretch a teensy after being worn. Just take a piece of yarn and wrap it around your wrist, then measure it for me.

  7. For some reason, I can't get your e-mail button on your profile page to work. It's probably me (I'm nearly computer incompetent) so I'll use this space to tell you my wrist measures 6-1/2". Thanks!

  8. Cute bracelet, but I'm sorry to hear the family's not feeling well.. We're o.k. around here; but I just cooked a whole chicken in my slow cooker yesterday, and now plan on making some homemade chicken soup here too! (I love how many meals ONE chicken can make!).. Hope everyone's feeling better soon! ~tina

  9. What a cute, cute bracelet! They should sell really well! :)
Sorry that the kids brought home the crud. Some chicken soup sounds like just the ticket to get everyone feeling a little better! Sorry about your hubby's long hours too. :(
