Frost Warning ~ Puttin' Up Herbs

A frost warning was set for last night, so I moved into high gear and worked on what should be brought in first.  I Cut the last of the parsley my herb garden could give me (while canning)

 ...a few more comfrey leaves

....the last of the calendula flowers.

 ....a big bowl of sage

 ...a bowl of rosemary

...and some chives.  My dehydrator is working overtime.
I'm glad I did.  We got our killer frost.
Even with all that work to do in the garden, I managed to get 20 more tomato plants pulled, and dinner on the table.

A pan of roasted veggies that we mixed with organic/non-gmo quinoa.

And some delicious applesauce-pumpkin muffins.  Now, I am officially out of applesauce.

I never had time to cut the nettle, but from what I read, nettle is a tough weed and can stand up to a hard frost.  I'll have to see if I have any to cut today.  I know swiss chard can handle it, so I left that to do another day.  More canning today.  If I have the energy.....Hubby is home not feeling well.

I need to check our frost date here. I think it's the end of October but I could be wrong. I need to bring in my herbs which means either repot and or preserve. Do you use your dehydrator for preserving them? I've never preserved herbs but I need to.
Your roasted vegetables look wonderful. I checked Amazon and they have quite a bit of organic products and also jet.com which has free shipping I think. If I start buying organic from Amazon I may join Amazon Prime as it might be worth it. I need to research it more. The gal at Walmart was wrong when she said they were going to stop carrying organic because no one was buying it. They are carrying more than ever now! So happy she was wrong!
I hope hubby is feeling better but he is probably the type that over does it....my son, Ben who just had shoulder surgery is that way....hard to keep a good man down!

The first killing frost always takes me by surprise (and causes a total panic)! Your herbs looks wonderful! I hope your hubby feels better - sounds like he was back on the stress-train at work. I know you will take good care of him.

Your hubby's not feeling well? Well, darn and drat. But, ya know, I wondered about that over-time he's been working already. I'm surprised his company is giving it to him so soon after his medical problems. Can he refuse the over-time if he chooses? I know the money is nice, but his total recovery and health are more important. Tie him down if you have to!

Sam I Am, I dry most of my herbs for winter, although I freeze green onion and chives.

Susan, I went into panic-mode and brought in a bunch of herbs, ha ha!.

Mama Pea, I think it's the medications that's making Hubby feel horrible.

Prayers for your hubby, and for you. Does the doctor know he's not feeling well?
About the only herb I got this year was purple basil. I cut it and dried it and put it in a small jar in my herb/spice cabinet. Wish I'd gotten more parsley, but my parsley didn't do well this year at all. Maybe next year.
My favorite program, Ghost Hunters, is having it's Series Finale after 12 years on tv, so I'll be glued to that. Sure am sorry to see those guys go.
I hope everyone has a great week.
God bless.

RB, yes, Hubby is calling his doctor. The blood pressure meds are really causing havoc.
