May Madness

This past weekend, and week, have been super packed with activities.  Two birthdays combined into one weekend celebration, Mother's Day, Prom, and what not.  Whew!  I even got the flower bed in front of the porch weeded, and zinnia seeds dropped.

Hubby worked many extra shifts due to demand, and I still got a bike ride in.  In fact, we met up with my Mother and took her out to dinner for Mother's Day.  It was a full weekend for sure.

I even had a nice dinner out on the front porch with a visit from our oldest daughter.  We had a few showers here and there, but for the most part, had good weather (it's still very wet out in the vegetable garden).

Our oldest daughter met up with us at the garden, so I snapped a few photos of them together.  We have a history of driving up to the "big city" and taking photos at a park that has a walking path and beautiful garden backgrounds.

These are all the friends that showed up for prom photos.  I think I ended up taking about 64 photos that day.

The park has a waterfall that makes a beautiful background for more photos.  The clouds moved in and out, but no rain at that point of the day.

As for those trespassers, and stolen property?  A report has been filed within the Sheriff's department now.

As for the "May Madness" it continues for us.  Public school jams everything they can into one month.  When the kids were very young, it was field trips and outdoor events.  Now that they are older, it's concerts, Arts Festival, and special club outings (National Honor Society, Spanish Club, etc.).

Oye.  I just want a Sunday where I don't have to be running around.  Today's it's my birthday, and I am looking at two days of dirty dishes.  I can't even cook myself breakfast unless I wash some dishes.  Literally.  They are fighting over who has want night, and could careless about how long they sit.....sigh.....or that it's my birthday and all I wanted was a clean house, unselfish helpers, and for them to pick up after themselves.

Happy belated birthday to you, Kristina! I have always thought my birthday (end of April) was "too close" to Mother's Day, but yours is even closer . . . and probably falls right on Mother's Day some years. Not fair! All birthdays should be set apart from other holidays, right?

Lovely pictures of the girls, and guy, in all their finery. I'm glad kids still dress up for some occasions at least! ;o}

Bad girls! They should be doing those dishes and cooking their mother breakfast! Your daughter is lovely in that dress! That blue really compliments her fair complexion and red hair. If I were you (and I'd have to be two of me to measure up to one of you), I would leave everything as is and go out on your porch and take some you time. If they need dinner, they can always clean up and cook...haha. Happy Birthday, Kristina!

Thank you Mama Pea. One kiddo said their gift was a Mother's day/birthday gift. I told them they can't do that (combine holidays), ha ha!

Susan, my wonderful husband was livid that the kids left those dishes. He came home and took me out to dinner. The kids had to make their own dinner, ha ha!

P.S. Your daughter looks lovely in her prom dress and what a great group of good looking kids! You were so right about the garden backgrounds. Great place for photos. I hope they all had a great and safe time at Prom.
