Rainy Day Advantage ~ Tidbits

I had two jobs on the list for rainy days.  One - a good overall cleaning of the master bathroom.  Two -  my bedroom closet.  The closet won.

I never did finish the closet last fall, so I chose to dig into that job first.   That is what I was doing when I got a text message from Hubby to pack my bags and that we were leaving for the weekend (last weekend).

I had tossed all my clothes out of the closet and onto the floor.  Hubby thought I had lost my mind.  I went through each piece, purging anything I had not worn and re-organizing.  It's Hubby's turn to purge next.

Yesterday I drove to the "big city" to have our 16 year-old looked and and ended up picking up medication for her - strep.  Her temperature took a hike after we returned home, so she's home sick again today.

While in town, I picked up several plastic squeeze bottles.  I'll be filling them with homemade hand sanitizer for the kids.  Just as soon as my bottle of aloe gel arrives.

If this rain stops, I have many outdoor chores to get started on.  Don't we all?  It's sloshy, sloppy wet outside right now.

Not much of a blog post today, but I am getting back to my daily exercise.  I do have to tell you though, I was getting over 11,000 steps just from cleaning, putting clothes on the line, and walking dogs.

Ugh, your daughter is still battling the germs! Our daughter is, too. She doesn't have strep and they don't think it's walking pneumonia, but she's not convinced. Her glands have been so swollen it's changed the shape of her face. At least her cough (which has been keeping her awake at night) is loose and productive now. I think that's a good sign. Hope so anyway.

Let's hope no one else in your family comes down with the strong germs as your 16 year old gets better. Whadda winter for illness, huh?

Mama Pea, it's another daughter who has strep. Two kids have it now. I once had very swollen lymph nodes under my jaw, and drank hot ginger tea to reduce it. For me it worked very well - grate fresh ginger root, steep, strain and drink. I hope she is feeling better soon.

We had sunny and 87 degrees today. I'm not a sunshine person. I like rain, nice gentle rain though, not the end of the world type stuff. So today was put the cats out (in the kennel) for 30 minutes, bring them back in to cool off, put them out, bring them in. If they don't get outside in a day, they get too frisky in the house. So that was my day.
I also got the kitchen cleaned, including the floor. So that's done, for today anyway.
So glad to hear your daughter's been diagnosed. Sorry it's strep, but now you know and it can be treated. By the way, it's highly contagious. :o(
God bless.

RB, your day sounds pretty good. I am trying to keep things sanitized here to keep them from spreading their germs.
