Random Tidbits

I washed up and dried one last batch of sage for this season.  This past summer has taught me to harvest more than enough when I can.  The weather here dipped to the high 20's and it snowed, but not enough to stick.

We have an upcoming full week ahead of us.  Its the week of December that tends to overwhelm me.  We have a birthday to celebrate, followed by Christmas Eve, followed by Christmas day, followed by our wedding anniversary.  It would be lovely to take a one night getaway, but we tend to give ourselves an island trip later in spring.

I still need to find out what Youngest wants for dinner on her 14th birthday.  Hard to believe it's arriving so fast.  It feels like I had her just yesterday.

Speaking of Youngest, she had a duet in a school choir (in-school) concert, so Son drove us over to watch.  She did very well, and in my opinion should have been given the solo she asked for (but the teacher denied her, telling her and other students that "better singers get better parts").  Speaking of choir teacher, this teacher likes to berate her students to the point of tears.  She did it to one and did it to Youngest.  I finally spoke to the school about it. No teacher, in my opinion, should be able to beat down a student with words (sometimes screaming) to the point of tears.  Our, now 16 year-old, quit choir because of her.

Son, drove the girls up north a bit to watch the new Star Wars movie. Oldest Daughter and her boyfriend met up with them.  Son made sure they all arrived wearing Star Wars shirts too.  I haven't heard yet this morning how good it was.  I'll wait to watch it when it comes out on DVD or on netflix, so I can watch it in my home in my PJ's.

College finals are all over now, so the older two girls can rest and re-group.  I hope to have more dog training helpers over Christmas and New Year's.  The puppies are growing fast already.

Puppy funny ~ our 19 year-old had arrived from college, and was unpacking in her room.  She had stuff all over her bed, and she called for Zuri.  Zuri calmly went in, gently got on the bed, stepping gently not to upset anything on the bed.  Suddenly, King barreled in, plopped on the bed, tossing everything everywhere, ha ha!

I lost three followers on my blog over night.  Do you ever wonder if it was something you said?  Or maybe your blog isn't interesting anymore?

That seems peculiar that you lost THREE followers on your blog at once. My numbers go up and down, too, occasionally and it causes me to wonder. Don't worry about your blog being uninteresting. It's always easy reading and contains interesting tidbits. On the other hand, there's no reason our posts should appeal to everyone. Maybe those who unsubscribe find themselves in a different phase of their lives with different interests than they had before.

Ha! I just looked at the number count of my followers and I lost FIVE overnight. Hey! Who's stealing all our followers??!

aww.. cute pup antics! Nice stopping by to visit. So great to have the kids together and that they have a break from studies.

I'm not sure about followers either. I lose them too especially on my facebook page. Can't seem to find a pattern and now days I don't pay much attention :)

Sending very Merry Christmas wishes to you and your family!!!

Mama Pea, I had noticed I gained one follower the other day, so that's how I noticed today I lost three. Weird. But you are right. They may have changed pace in their lives too.

When I made my blog private a few years back, I also decided to follow my blog-roll anonymously so I switched from a public follower to an anonymous one. I'm sure that caused a loss of follower (me) on those blogs, but I still read them all religiously! I'm a big fan of bloggers who write daily, and for me the content is always interesting because everyone's life is unique. The blogs I stop reading are usually the ones who don't write consistently or seem to have given up for weeks at a time. Keep up the great writing! I do enjoy coming here every day even if I don't always comment! :)

Thank you Rain! I myself, try to post frequently, as my crazy family usually provides content. Thanks for following and glad you enjoy it.

Must be contagious, because I lost three, too! Your sage looks so healthy - I do need to plant more next year. I also need to make a plan, as opposed to last year's willy-nilly ness.

Susan, I have two large sage plants, but I had to replant a year ago or so. Hubby and I love the stronger flavor of sage infusion vs. sage tea.
