Shopped 'till we dropped....and other tidbits

The family gathering went well on Saturday, although we could have had better weather.  It was a bit humid.  I sent each family home with a bottle of organic blood orange Italian soda.

Sunday, I never got the chance to even lift one of my library books.

Hubby high-jacked my camera and tried to take a photo of me in my pajamas on the porch.

We watched the sunrise, and sipped hot coffee before our maddening day started.

We also watched this travel up the highway.  It looks like the person lives in that "buggy" and I think we've seen it one other year in the past.  The back of it had many flashing lights to warn drivers.

Back to the day we had...we had to make a trip to buy school shoes for three girls.  We were running out of time.  Two start school this Wednesday.

We shopped at three stores before going to the mall, and we hit every shoe store there, and I still never found a pair of sandals for myself (if I was shopping for them, I thought I might as well shop for myself too).    9,000 of my fitbit steps racked up fast with all that walking.  It's hard to find shoes when two of your kids wear a women's size 11 (and yourself).

The kids however, got their shoes, and other last minute supplies.  We also spent over 2 hours at the cell store.  Ugh.  Now I have to learn how to call and text all over again.   Hubby insisted it was time to give up my "talk and text" phone that was so ancient, that they could not transfer any of the photos off of it.

Trust me, I collapsed after that.  It was the only day that all three could go in one trip, otherwise I would have been sitting on my cozy porch recuperating.

I want to move to the mountains where you have to write letters to communicate, or drive to my door to deliver a message.  Technology and I are not a good pair, ha ha!  It's getting too expensive anymore as well.

I am glad Son wants to "chill" and pack his belongings today.  I myself, need a few more days to recuperate, but I want to make a nice dinner tonight too.  Chickpea stuffed shells sound good.

I don't want to see a store of any sort for a loooong time.

I was totally exhausted just reading about your day. I would love for things to slow down again. It does seem that everything has to hurtle along at break-neck speed, including how we communicate. I hope you get some 'you' time. I was at a yarn tag sale yesterday and thought about you. It didn't matter that it was 90 degrees and humid - I bought yarn!

Kristina, from what city (town) do you blog. I could swear that the wagon in your blog was the same one I saw in Hershey, PA about two weeks ago. I enjoy your blog.

Susan, ha ha! I have a horrible time going in any store that sells yarn, and not buying anyt. Glad you found a good sale to shop at.

Robin, I wonder if the person (or persons) driving it live in it, and travel to warmer states throughout the year? It's hot and humid here, so I felt bad for those horses. I blog from Ohio, so it very well could be the same one. It was just very odd to see it on a 55mph country highway. Not something I'd see here.

That is a very interesting horse-drawn vehicle... no doubt a unique individual living/traveling in it too. Everyone has a story. I'm with you Kristina on the phone and technology. I still have a flip phone which I call my "caveman phone", and I like it that way. I don't need the internet at my beck and call everywhere I go. it certainly is a convenience at times but... Yeah, I wouldn't mind being a little more disconnected either. That said, I love to blog, and read other folks' blogs.

I think the time you (and sometimes your hubby) manage to spend on your porch is wonderful. The glimpses you share of it (including you hiding behind your hand) are always so attractive and inviting.

Don't you just love Camera Robbers... they rob you of your camera when you least expect it and want to take your picture unaware?!
We had the tax free shopping day here recently and I for some reason decided to shop for shoes the same weekend forgetting that little nugget of info.
The shoes... PICKED OVER!
I got some cute turquoise ones... but I could do with out the pink!
That is an interesting buggy. I'm sure if they use it to live in... they're better off than many others. Maybe... they're gypsies. (hide the kids!) Just kidding, isn't that so stereo-typical of me. Sorry... couldn't help myself.
Still, they're probably pretty set and not lack for much. It takes a special type to live off grid like that.

Debby, I was very intrigued of that horse drawn vehicle. I would have loved to waved them in, and sat and talked to hear their story. My kids want to hook my phone to my email, and told them "no way" ha ha!

Thank you Mama Pea, I love to take photos and the kids tell me to erase my card more often (it takes forever to load these days with the number of photos I take).

Patricia, my last pair of shoes were aqua and pink. I use them for my "walking" shoes. I need a new pair too, but will wait a bit. I have to recover from the massive spending we had to do, ha ha!
