Sunrises ~ Smoothies ~ Smacking Myself

The last few mornings, we've has some beautiful sunrise skies.

These photos don't really show the pink as much as it was in plain view.  We have another gorgeous morning today as well.

Youngest is on a "grind up the veggies" kick, so we tried another smoothie.  I'll admit, this one was tastier than the last.  I'm looking for nice cold smoothies for summer time, when I am too tired to cook anything (or don't feel like eating a big meal).  This one is from the book, Clean Green Drinks, by Candice Kumai.   They quote someone saying it tastes like a "peanut butter cup" but they are wrong.  I'm not saying it was bad, but it tasted more like a chocolate banana drink with a hint of greens (spinach).

There are many recipes in the book, and many I won't try, but I'm sharing for those interested.

Regarding the "smacking myself" in the blog post title today...

It happened again.

Why, oh why, oh why?

I opened my email.

There in front of me were 30 new Valentine crochet patterns.
I couldn't stop myself.

I clicked on it - SMACK!

I opened one pattern - SMACK!

I printed one pattern - SMACK!

And, I went and made one - SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!

.....while unfinished projects sat in tote bags.

The first thing out of my mouth, was "that is so cute!"  When the kids got home, one said, "you can't use the word cute Mom."  A few minutes later she is snapping a photo and posting it on facebook, saying it's "cute."  And when Hubby walked in from work, he said "that is so cute!"  So "cute" it is.  Now (SMACK!) the kids are requesting red and more pink ones for all the table spaces.  The pattern is from Red Heart.  I imagine, since it came to my email as a free pattern, you can find it online too.  I just haven't checked.  I'm afraid I'll get side tracked and (SMACK!) print another pattern.

One disadvantage of our property is that the sunrises are completely hidden by a heavy stand of tall, tall trees. I really miss sunrises as morning is my time of day!

As far as your new Valentine's crocheting project, THAT IS SO CUTE! I've never seen anyone who does crocheting as expertly as you do, Kristina! That's definitely your talent. My mom was a very good crocheter and could duplicate nearly any pattern she saw, but she only did baby blankets and afghans, some very intricate. Your small pieces are so clever and well-done. I really enjoy seeing them.

Isn't it fantastic that your son has such an interest in making healthy smoothies/drinks? Even if some are not quite up to par, how will he ever learn if he doesn't experiment? He can come make smoothies for us anytime!

those are so cute!
I had a moment like that yesterday, when I decided to look for a pincushion pattern, I found a really cute one that makes pincushions that look like chickens... I've been saving my hair from my brush...shh! don't tell. Anyway, it's cute, I want to make a ton of them!
{smack}
I have so much else to be doing!

Mama Pea, our sunsets are behind trees, so I typically see pretty ones through the trees in the fall time.

May I ask who sends you the free crochet patterns? Is it an email from Red Heart? It would save me time from searching each holiday for patterns although it's fun but a real time waster. It would be great to have them waiting in your email! LOL!
Good for your son with the healthy drinks!
The SMACK reminds me of "I could've had a V-8"! LOL!I know what you mean about the sun rises...my camera won't capture the true beauty either but you did good! TTYL!
