Coffee Pot Collection Re-do ~ Sadie Update

Almost a year ago, I shared my antique coffee pot collection.

This year, I decided it was time to use them or lose them.

The blue one we take camping, and the kids have used it for backyard friend camp-outs.  We've also used it during power outages.  So that one stays put, or in the camper itself.

The red one is now a flower vase.  I love fresh flowers in the house.  They just add so much beauty, and I do think it affects the overall mood levels here too.

The shorter white one now holds my indoor basil plant in the kitchen window.  Hubby and I bought this one on one of our island getaways.

A small creamer is now a pencil holder.  It could also hold crafting supplies such as crochet hooks or paint brushes.

The painted coffee pot is now a flower vase in one bathroom.  Yep, fresh flowers in the "flush" room (as my kids call it).

One large one is being used to hold grilling tools.  It's in on a shelf (out of sight) until grilling season starts.  Then we just garb it and go to the porch.  These tools are typically too long to store in a kitchen drawer.  I have a few hangers on the grill, but not enough.

I'm still working on the remaining three (and leftover parts).

Yesterday, my plans to film Sadie playing in the snow came to a halt.  In fact, when I collected eggs, she laid down in the snow and rain and would not follow me inside.  It alerted us, and mid-afternoon my oldest two daughters drove her to the emergency vet (Sadie's gums were almost white).

The vet determined a bit of bleeding, and sent her home, as she was perking up and regaining color while there.  Oldest Daughter is monitoring her for the next few days.

Prior to this, she had been doing great.

Repurposing your coffee pots reminds me I need to think outside the box more often. Very clever uses of those that are no longer destined to hold coffee!

Sure hope this latest with Sadie is just a blimp on her health radar. Glad your daughter is nearby this time. Get well, Sadie!

Good to think about collections. I do too, pretty small house here. I have a close version of the white painted coffee pot on the far left. Mine is from Sweden, is yours? Any lettering?

Nancy, I see a "B??ggron" on the pot. I can't make out two letters.

Pots look great. Not sure what's happening with blog updates from your blog - I seem to get nothing then loads in one go?
Hope Sadie is doing ok.

Emma, I hope blogger gets the bloopers out. As for Sadie, she's not doing very well right now.

Mama Pea, I think our favorite so far is the one we put red flower in, in the bathroom.

Sadie, unfortunately, is not doing well right now. This day has been very tough so far for us, especially Oldest Daughter.

Sounds like it was more than 'a bit' of bleeding. I am sorry she's not doing well. It's so agonizing, dealing with an ill pet. I will send her healing thoughts - and to you all, too. I do love the painted coffee pot, too.

I'm so sorry about Sadie not doing well. I will say a prayer and hope she recovers.
I love your coffee pots and what you used them for. they all look really nice. I like the flush room" one the best so far and the red one.

The pots look great and I for one can appreciate a pot that is pretty and functional.
I like all the different way you use them. I had a blue one like yours complete with perk basket inside and 2 cups. I gave them to my dad for Christmas for his Pop Up Camper!
That made him a happy camper. ;)
Sorry to hear Sadie isn't well.
I hope for the best.

Pat, that blue one is going in our pop-up camper as well. I can access from our front storage on it, so we can use in in any emergency too.

Sam I am, that one in the bathroom is our favorite so far.

Susan, you are right. It's so difficult with animals.

I forgot to mention that I LOVE your new "look"! The header is great!

Sorry to hear about Sadie. It's so hard when our feather/fur/finbabies are sick, because they can't tell us what's wrong or where it hurts, so our anxiety level rises for them. Sending prayers for sure.

Regarding the coffee pots...seeing how the lovely ones in the story have been so excellently re-purposed, I wouldn't get rid of a one. They're great for sorting and segregating small items, they could always be used for something. For instance, storing extra buttons, balls/bobbins/spools of thread, rubber bands/paper clips/twist ties, bolts/nuts/screws, etc. They're prettier and sturdier than a box or jar. Yep, I wouldn't get rid of a single one.

God bless.
