Scrubbie Update ~ Hot Banana Peppers ~ More Salsa

Remember this scrubbie?  I posted about it back in Feb. of this year?

The lighting is different, but it's the same scrubbie 6 months later.  The sides have flattened out and are not curled up, but the scrubbie is still chugging along with no rips or signs of falling apart.

Just sharing.  I do make the larger ones too, but wanted to find an easy one, that took less netting.

I got more hot pepper mustard sauce canned.  I honestly didn't think I'd have enough of my own peppers, but my six plants surprised me (despite no rain).  I have more peppers growing too.

Two days ago I chopped up ingredients for zucchini salsa to let sit and ferment overnight.  I like the fact this sits overnight.  It makes canning the next day much easier.

Yesterday I canned it.  Then, because I like to torture myself, I chopped up ingredients to can another batch today.

Right after the kids came home, I took a quick road trip into town.  I delivered Dad a 3-course meal, and Mom a bag full of tomatoes.  Just by chance, Mom was babysitting when I delivered tomatoes.

I got to hold my cute bundle of joy, nephew.  He's such a cutie.

I finished another dishcloth with scrap yarns.  It turned out very nice I think.

I'm looking forward to a slow-paced weekend, and some relaxation.

Can't believe your family goes through that much hot pepper mustard sauce! It would be a few years supply for us, but then I'm the only mustard lover here. Looks good as does the zucchini salsa!

This post has enticed me to crochet one of those enduring scrubbies ! That's a good run for a scrubbie holding up so well at the 6 month mark.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! We love the mustard sauce poured over chicken in the crockpot, then served over rice or quinoa or millet etc. It can be used as a dipping sauce too. I'm thinking I will make nice gifts too. I'll have to start pickling or freezing the next hot peppers that are harvested, ha ha!

I love your dishcloth, it is beautiful :)

I will have to try Zucchini Salsa, I too like the fact that it sits overnight.

That's a lot of salsa! It must be good.
glad to see that the scrubbie is still working for you. I've not made any of these, but has seen them for sale in the Heritage Market in town.
I love using the scraps up and making things that are useful with them.
I'm also looking forward to a relaxed weekend.
thank you for always sharing your recipes... I've gotten some good ones here, and always try to link back --even if I alter it a little. ;)
take care... Pat

You always inspire me! But I am pleased if I just do better than I did the year before.
I love your scrubbies and the granny dishcloth is so pretty. Great idea for cloths.
