Fried Cabbage and Squash Cornbread

Although very tired from preserving all day, I managed to get photos of my "Southern Fried Cabbage" and Squash cornbread.   Although the recipe calls for "mashed squash" I do make it with grated zucchini too.

The bread recipe required sour cream that I did not have, but I used organic/non-gmo yogurt in it's place.  It turned out nice too.

A few more granny dishcloths and a few crocheted facial "scrubbies" made.  I just have to sew in the ends. I have scraps I'm using up now for smaller projects just to use up the yarn.

....it's another day with the canning pot.  No rain again yesterday.  Thunderstorms were due, but nothing arrived at our homestead.  If we don't get anything soon, I'll be watering the garden for the first time this season.  It's very humid out today already.

I really wish I could crochet well. I can do just a straight stitch with single and double crochet. But as for granny squares I have never had luck with them.

That squash and cabbage looks wonderful!!
