Projects

Projects?  Pieces of work?  Tasks?  They all sound like "work" right? Ugh.  I got myself into a tizzy this week, and had to get crackin' on doing some actual completions.  Otherwise, Hubby was going to call "hoarders" and turn me in. Seriously.  I had so many "projects" going on at the same time, I literally lost track of what needed completed first.

My lack of organization left these pile up.  And that's not all.

Here's is another "pile" that slowly stacked it's way to another area in my bedroom.

And oh boy, the magazines?  After I snapped this photo, I found two more Backwoods Home magazines.  Sheesh.  I am so overdue for some "porch time" it's frustrating me.  Why do I do this to myself?

I am so far behind in cleaning up my yarn piles, I dove in yesterday.  Only while cleaning I found a pattern, so I got out some yarn, sat down, and started yet another project (photos coming soon).

(You can stop laughing now)

I think one kid should be required to stay home during the day this fall, and keep me accountable.  I love the fall cool, crisp weather, and tend to wander from project to project.  I really need to stop calling them "projects" and call them less overwhelming.  Maybe I should call crafting an addiction, ha ha!  Oh man, I gotta get off here and get my exercise in.

I'm not being accountable and need to get some jam made.  Or....I could simply eat the apples and act like I never intended to make jam from them too.   Think the family will notice?

And with my exercise.....I'm at a standstill with weight loss.  My support partner (my 11 year-old daughter), is doing sit-ups now.  She's "upped the ante" in competition, so I'm now using free weights, and doing push-ups.  If there is one thing I am doing right in my days home alone, is that I make sure I exercise every day.  Even if it's walking only one mile.  I've got to retain sanity somehow.

Little does my little one know it yet, but I'm about to "up the ante" on her soon.  I'm going to be boxing again.  I just have to find my air pump for the speed bag.  Maybe I'll find it while putting away my stacks of yarn, ha ha!

On a last side note, my 19 year-old daughter wants to me get facebook.  Sadly, it may be the only way to stay in touch when she is at boot camp. We'll see.

Hmmmm...reminds me that I have a grocery sack filled with "to go through" magazines. Maybe I'll tackle that this morning. Maybe.

As for Facebook? That is the way my sister and I communicate. And if you can get past the fact that the Feds are using FB (and everything else) as a way to track you, I think it's a great way to communicate with family/friends that are far (or not so far) away.

I use to discipline myself by not starting an additional project until I had finished the one before. That went to the wind when I retired and we moved to a smaller house. Now no matter what I start, I can't seem to find all the pieces to finish. The smaller house just doesn't have good organization and storage capability. Not sure what to do about that. I sure wish I DID know because I miss my loom beading and jewelry making a lot, but there's just not room to do it here. sigh

God bless.
