Write that Novel

I'm getting more time in for writing these days.  Although, I think I spend more time reading about writing than actual writing.

I'm working on prompt exercises and getting my brain to shift gears from chores to what I enjoy doing - writing.

And you probably know how side-tracked I can get, so this is a challenge.  Especially in this chaotic, large family, home.

When I sat down to read over some magazines pertaining to writing, I ended up reading some old Clean Eating magazines there were in the same pile.

I got my focus back, and buried the recipe magazines underneath them.

The day before, I got out my journal I collect odds and ends of information (conversations, descriptions, places, names, etc.) in.  However, I never covered the front or the back, so what did I do?  You guessed it.  I decoupaged it with paper that looks like newsprint.  Then I added the typewriter stamp.  I will add letters to the front soon also.

Getting side-tracked is easy in my home.

Staying on track is always a hard thing to do. I am always doing 5 things at once and thinkng about how to do the next 3! Hahaha! Just do the best you can and follow your dream.

Catching up on my reading after a day away...
I love the journal pages you posted. The water colors look great. I like to create stationary sets that match like that... only I used washable markers!
Love the garden meal. I canned spaghetti sauce yesterday using mostly home grown ingredients! I only got two quarts...but something had to be done with the Tomatoes before they were too ripe.

As to your writing... there are magazines for that? That was my first thought; but then I read 'chicken' magazines and 'homesteading' magazines, so why not, right?
Have fun writing and creating.
I like the graphics on the journal too.

~ think I'm caught up now; be seeing you, Pat

I understand completely but in a way it is what makes life so interesting and adventure-like!
I love the way you decorated your journal.

I do that too- I have too many ideas at once! I guess I like the stimulation :)

It certainly is easy to get sidetracked when you have so many things going on at once, like YOU do!! :)

Your journal looks great! What a perfect thing to write in. It is so easy to get distracted, yes...but hey! You're making the time to write and that's a huge step forward!
