Bird House Becomes A Home

This bird house was painted by my 13 year-old daughter, and we've had it up for over 3 years.  This is the first that I've seen birds it this one.  It's hanging at the edge of our back patio, and the birds don't seem to mind me out there.  These birds are so tiny.

I believe these birds are House Wrens.  Their song is so beautiful to listen to.

Blog Award:

Nancy at Little Homestead in Boise, gave my blog the "One Lovely Blog Award."  I normally don't pass these on, but wanted to pass this one on.

To receive it, I need to mention 7 random things about myself, and pass it onto other blogs.

7 random things:

1.I love Christmas and love making Christmas ornaments

2.I drink too much coffee

3.When talking, I tend to repeat myself often (just ask the kids)

4.I've traveled to the Bahamas, Argentina, Spain, and Africa.  I have also traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Kansas City (on both borders), Washington, D.C. Indiana, Michigan, Chicago, IL, West Virginia, and Toronto, Canada.

5.I love putting chocolate syrup in my rootbeer.

6.I've traveled by car, tour bus, train, local boat, hyrofoil, and airplane.

7.I love to dance!

And to pass this One Lovely Blog Award on, I am passing it to:

Just remember to post 7 random things about yourself and pass the award onto other blogs.

Wonder why it takes some birds so long to catch on?
You see a vacant bird house...you move in...pretty simple. Maybe they're leery of new things.

Anyway...it's cute. I like it.

Yes those are house wrens-they have the most beautiful songs in the am but watch out when you get too close to the nest they will scold you like crazy! No head diving like the swallows just very much chewing you out for being too close! I love them! They will only build a nest there if the hole is small enough for no other birds to get in! But they will come back every year!

Wow! I get home from camping to read this! Thanks for award.

We've had a bird house and nesting box up for quite a few years. The bird house has had tenants almost as soon as we put it up. The nesting box? No one has even looked at it! Maybe some day.
